Wests Juniors

Wests Juniors Football Club provide for the full range of junior football ranging from U8 to U18 as well as being an AusKick Centre. With the ground currently being resurfaced and excellent club house it provides a fun, safe place to learn and continue on with football.

Wests Juniors Football Club is situated at Oakman Park, Union Street, Toowong.  Facilities comprise a main oval with light towers for night football and clubrooms with a canteen.  2003 was  the 75th year of AFL at Oakman Park.  West Juniors is currently in a period of substantial growth in line with the increased popularity of Aussie Rules in Queensland.  In 2004 and 2005 we had in excess of 200 registered players.

All coaches are AFL-accredited and are mindful of their extended roles as not only developers of AFL skills, but also as mentors who complement the role of parents and teachers in the development of future citizens.  Our coaching team includes Keith "Happy" Wallis, winner of the "Queensland Health 2005 Service to Junior Sport" at the 2005 11th Annual Queensland Sport Awards.

UQ Bulldogs Under 18's

The UQ Bulldogs was formed in 2004 as a joint venture between the Wests Bulldogs Juniors AFC and University of Queensland AFC. The team provides a pathway for junior players in the western suburbs to proceed to a good quality Senior football competition. Both clubs have been in existence for over 50 years and have produced a long line of quality footballers who have represented both Wests and University at Junior and Senior level as well as representing their state and competing at the elite AFL level. The clubs colours are a combination of both the Wests Juniors and University colours. The venture has shown immediate success with the UQ Bulldogs competing in finals football in their inaugural year 2004 and winning a premiership in only their second year in 2005.
